Walden Education

Cultivating independent thinking and stimulating academic exploration

“I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.”

- Henry David Thoreau

Inspired by the philosophy of self-reliance championed by Henry David Thoreau, Walden Education helps students engage with compelling ideas and develop individualized outlooks on the human experience.

We build foundational skills in reading, writing, critical thinking, philosophy, rhetoric and historical study, firmly rooted in the belief that these intellectual resources are valuable across all academic fields and at every point of life.
