About

Good teachers are always learning; knowledge is a vibrant and active part of their every day life. Students see this and are inspired when they witness educators continuing to learn, think and discover.

It is clear that our education system has become inadequate: young people are graduating with less abilities, less knowledge, and less desire to continue learning. We are, frankly, in the midst of a crisis. This crisis is one of meaning — students are failing to find passion and meaning in their studies, the result being that they lead lives severely diminished.

We created Walden Education in the spirit of American writer and philosopher Henry David Thoreau in an effort to cultivate a generation of inspired men and women. We believe that education, great books, honorable ideas and a vigorous pursuit of knowledge all have the ability to direct young people towards a more meaningful existence.

Whether through creating an inspired classroom, engaging in challenging discussions or simply picking up a good book, join us in revitalizing education.
